Hi
I want to buy RA3 but the 5 install limit is making me think twice. Is there anyway for us in singapore to get out install count refunded if we run out of them and have proof?

As I understand it with RA3 if you uninstall while connected to the net you will automatically get that install back.
If through computer crashes and the like you are unable to uninstall then you are supposed to be able to contact EA support to reset your activated installs, which I would assume means that any existing and working installs of the game may need re-activation. If you are asking because you want to install the one purchase to multiple computers at once then buy more copies of the game.

The EA support that is for activations is done by email so you can be anywhere in the world.

Plus I'm pretty sure all the EA staff that maintain this site are located in Singapore.

Hi SGBen,

If you reach your install limit, you can request for more via EA support and this can be done online by dropping an email to them.

It won't be a problem unless u are very "sway" (local slang for "unlucky"Wink to get your computer infected 4-5 times a month Wink

Actually, even if you do a reformat, as long as you do note make any significant hardware changes, the game will still recognise your hardware and won't "charge" you another activation.

Which means if you install and uninstall on the same PC 20 times within a month, its still one activation.

And if it gets a major virus attack, and your reformat, and re-install say.. 10 times within a month, its still one activation.

So I don't really see much of a problem or worry about the DRM at all.

In fact, its a huge 1-up from the past, when you had to insert the game disc EVERYTIME you run the game. Wink

And say if 5 years down the road, for some reason, all activations have been used up, simply visit http://ea.com.sg/support/ and provide your EA account details and CD-Key for verification. Once EA can confirm your ownership of the CD-Key linked to your EA account (which you use to play the game online), you should have no problem getting the game running again.
