Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) and HP are jointly organizing a pan regional Spore™ Creature Creator design competition. The design competition is part of the promotion campaign to launch EA’s most anticipated PC game for 2008 - Spore - created by game guru Will Wright, maker of the much-loved Sims legacy. The competition will see participants from ten countries in the Asia Pacific region competing in the finals of the Spore Creature Creator design competition (http://www.SporeShow.com), with each country’s winner earning a trip to Hong Kong this September for the Experience Show that will be held at the EA Experience venue located at The Peak. The winners will be able to present their creations at the event and one will be selected as the regional winner for the competition.

Spore, the highly-anticipated game from the people behind The Sims™, gives players their own personal universe in a box. Create and evolve life, establish tribes, build civilizations, sculpt entire worlds and explore a universe filled with creations made by other gamers. Spore gives players a wealth of creative tools to customize nearly every aspect of their universe: creatures, vehicles, buildings, and even spaceships. The Spore Creature Creator free download is available at www.sporeshow.com for players to experience the world’s introduction to the amazing and innovative new franchise of Spore.

“Spore is a game for everyone and the design competition is a fantastic opportunity for gamers of all ages to uncover their creative flair”, said Chris Thompson, VP & GM of EA Asia. “It is a fun and engaging toolbox bound only by one’s own imagination, and it will be exciting to see what new and unique creatures players can create. EA’s collaboration with HP will certainly make their creative journey more rewarding,” he added.

“Consumer computing has matured and HP understands that the PC serves as the critical link to connect users with digital content and experiences that are important to them. Personal computing is not just about great design and performance. It is also about the unique out-of-box experiences one has with the PC and the array of content choices available that promotes self-expression and creative freedom in this increasingly digital world,” said Ajay Mohan, vice president, Marketing, Personal Systems Group, HP Asia Pacific and Japan. “With EA and Spore, we found a strong synergy in providing customers across all age groups a unique PC experience and an avenue to express themselves, with imagination as the only limit.”

To encourage self expressions and creativity, the creature creation design competition is open to all eligible hopefuls in ten participating countries - Australia, China, Hong Kong India, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. Players can download the Spore Creature Creator for free and start designing their own creatures. They can drive their creatures’ popularity by sharing it with their family and friends. The most popular creature is determined by the number of times the creature is being viewed by users. The winners will each receive a new HP Pavilion dv4 Entertainment Notebook PC and five EA games. In addition, each country winner will travel to Hong Kong this September to the Experience Show, where they will showcase their creations to emerge as the Regional Champion in the Spore Creature Creator Contest and take home a cash prize of USD$5,000.

To up the ante, MTV Asia’s VJs Utt, Denise Keller, and Taya Rogers are the first to share their own Spore creature creations online. MTV VJs from each country in the region will also share their Spore creature creations online at the contest portal at www.sporeshow.com.
